Hello, this is the Audubon Society of Portland Rare Bird Report. This report
was made Thursday February 12. If you have anything to add call Harry Nehls
at 503-233-3976.

On February 8 a SLATY-BACKED GULL was seen among a large flock of gulls
along Wireless Road near Astoria. It could not be relocated. The LUCY?S
WARBLER continues to be see at Sheila Chambers hummingbird feeder in
Brookings.

RUFOUS HUMMINGBIRD reports are increasing as are ORANGE-CROWNED WARBLERS and
BLACK-LEGGED KITTIWAKE. EURASIAN TEAL are still at the Fernhill Wetlands, at
the Creswell Sewage Ponds, and along Fenk Road near Tillamook.

On February 9 a BANK SWALLOW was at Brookings and a BLACK-THROATED GRAY
WARBLER was at Pistol River. The BULLOCK?S ORIOLE is still coming to an
Astoria feeder. On February 7 two TREE SWALLOWS, 20 BARN SWALLOWS, and four
KITES were at Brownsmead east of Astoria.

On February 5 a RED-SHOULDERED HAWK was at Virginia Lake on Sauvie Island.
An EARED GREBE was at the Fernhill Wetlands February 7. On February 9 a
PRAIRIE FALCON was south of Oregon City. The GYRFALCON continues to be seen
at Baskett Slough NWR. On February 9 a TUFTED DUCK and a male HERMIT WARBLER
were at Finley NWR.

The wintering BLACK PHOEBE south of Dayton continues to be seen, as does the
PHOEBE at the City Park in Monroe. On February 5 a BLACK PHOEBE was at East
County Park in Creswell.

On February 7 eight COWBIRDS were at Hatfield Lake near Bend. That day a
BLACK PHOEBE was at the Miller Island Refuge south of Klamath Falls; the
Link River NIGHT-HERON roost in Klamath Falls contained 385 birds. On
February 10 a RED-SHOULDERED HAWK was along State Line Raod in Lower Klamath
NWR.
