The Washington Ornithological Society would like to announce the following
field trips:

Saturday, March 6th, 2004 Arden Hagen will lead a trip through Clark county
in southwest Washington. The major good birding spots are Ridgefield NWR,
Steigerwald NWR, and Vancouver lake lowlands. It will take all day to cover
them. We should have Sandhill Cranes, White-breasted Nuthatch, Western
Scrub-Jay, lots of waterfowl, Peregrine Falcon, Canada Goose subspecies,
etc. Meet at 7:30 a.m. at Ridgefield exit-14 off I-5 on the west side where
there is a large gravel parking lot. More info, contact Arden Hagen,

Saturday, March 20th, 2004 Doug Schonewald will lead a trip to Grant and
Douglas Counties with stops at the Beezley Hills and Grand Coulee areas
looking for shrub-steppe endemic species. Target birds will include Chukar,
Loggerhead Shrike, Sage Thrasher, and Sage Sparrow. Limit of 10 birders.

WOS Field Trips allow members to explore places or revisit familiar haunts.
Each trip is open to a limited number of participants. Each member may join
up to four trips per year (excluding annual conference trips). Non-members
may attend as a member's guest once per year. Questions about field trips
should be directed to the trip leader(s).
