I had an interesting experience last thur at Port Madison. As I was walking the beach I noticed a river otter sitting on a rock 50' offshore with a fish in its mouth. All of the sudden a Bald Eagle swooped down at the otter which ducked. The eagle then came around again getting much closer to the otter who spooked into the water sans fish which the eagle picked up and then returned to its roost. About an hour later the otter was back on the rock with a fish in its mouth when the eagle swooped again with the same result. The otter dove off the rock and the eagle carried away its second catch of the day. Bad fishing day for the otter!
