Books for the West Indies will not include Trinidad and Tobago. These
islands may be culturally West Indian, but they are so close to the
mainland that they are biologically part of South America. Stephen L.
Hilty's "Birds of Venezuela" does cover Trinidad and Tobago, and notes
which species occur on those islands. It's worth taking along. Richard
ffrench's "Guide to birds of Trinidad and Tobago" was revised in 1991,
and is still for sale in the ABA Sales catalog.
