Tweeters,
High water and gusting south wind seemed seemed a combination to keep most birds around here out of sight. However, the local PEREGRINE FALCON was very visible on the west power tower--next to the power substation. I saw it earlier (10:23am) fly from the east power tower in a failed pursuit of a Rock Pigeon. Nonetheless, sometime between then and my noontime scan it must have been successful, if a distended crop is any indication of success.

Birds seen during this scan include the following:
Gadwall (2)
Double-crested Cormorant (2)
Red-tailed Hawk (soaring just west of East Marginal Way S., circling northward)
Peregrine Falcon
Mew Gull
Glaucous-winged Gull (10)
Rock Pigeon (37)
Belted Kingfisher
Red-winged Blackbird

May all your birds be identified,

Denis DeSilvis
