Hello, this is the Audubon Society of Portland Rare Bird Report. This report
was made Thursday February 18. If you have anything to add call Harry Nehls

On February 14 a FALCATED DUCK was spotted among a large wigeon flock on
Kirk Pond at the Fern Ridge Reservoir Dam. Ten EURASIAN WIGEON were also in
the flock. The LUCY?S WARBLER continues to be seen in Brookings. The Finley
NWR TUFTED DUCK is still being seen but is somewhat elusive. The two BLUE
JAYS wintering near Thornhollow on the Umatilla River east of Pendleton
continue to be seen.

BAND-TAILED PIGEONS and TREE SWALLOWS are now arriving at their summer
territories.

A LEWIS?S WOODPECKER was see February 12 in North Bend. On February 14 four
HORNED LARKS and a SNOW BUNTING were at the South Jetty of Yaquina Bay. A
LONG-TAILED DUCK and a PIGEON GUILLEMOT were there the next day.

A ROSS?S GOOSE was seen February 13 among a CACKLING GOOSE flock on Sauvie
Island. On February 15 one was in a goose flock at the Fernhill Wetlands in
Forest Grove. On February 14 a SWAINSON?S HAWK was reported from 194th and
Stark in Gresham. It needs verification. A SAY?S PHOEBE was at Jackson
Bottom in Hillsboro February 14. On February 16 a RED-BREASTED MERGANSER was
on Hagg Lake at Scoggins Valley Park south of Forest Grove.

A BARN SWALLOW and a TREE SWALLOW were over the mouth of the Deschutes River
February 16. The wintering HARLEQUIN DUCK is still being seen there. On
February 14 an early YELLOW-HEADED BLACKBIRD was back at Lower Klamath NWR.
An early SPOTTED TOWHEE was at a feeder near Hines February 15.
