Hello all,
Today at noon while scouting for the upcoming WOS field trip we discovered a first year Yellow-bellied Sapsucker in a small group of pines in Hood Park. This bird was again relocated at 3 pm and observed by Nancy LaFramboise and friend. We have numerous photos. Write-up will be submitted to WBRC. We hope this bird will be present on Saturday. This is our first winter record for this species in Walla Walla Co.
Also located 2 Saw-whet Owls on roost and one Brown Creeper in Hood Park.
We looked over many gulls today at the poop piles and found nothing unusual.
Later, Mike
