I was walking along a trail in our greenbelt contemplating some survey
numbers when I walked unknowingly underneath George. (Fondly named by the
kids in the neighborhood) I did not see him and after I got about 3 steps
past him he gave a loud, Who Cooks for you, which startled me so that I
dropped my clipboard. I whirled around, and there was George, 12 feet up on
a branch, leaning over and bobbing his head as if to say hello, and perhaps
with a silent owly laugh at his clever trick. He toured all his favorite
spots from last year, and several people heard him call all around the
property. In fact he out there now hooting away. This coincides to the day
of his arrival last year. I am glad he came back, having a friendly owl
makes a nice addition to the neighborhood, although I am sure the squirrels
have a different opinion.
