Tweets,

made my first real foray out today after having knee surgery three
weeks ago; I spent an hour or so hobbling around at Nisqually. Of
most interest were a couple reports of a Broadwinged Hawk, seen first
on the 10th (I think), and as recently as yesterday. Yesterday's
sighting was by Jim Pruske, who certainly knows how unlikely a
Broadwing is here and wouldn't be making a casual id. So anyone
headed to Nisqually should be on the lookout; one sighting was along
McAllister Creek, and yesterday's was from the boardwalk.

The best bird I saw was a Song Sparrow with a mostly white head; just
a little bit of brown on the top. I don't remember if this bird has
been mentioned here previously, but it sure is striking. It was
hanging out along the boardwalk, in the vicintiy of the double
benches.
