11:56am start - outgoing tide - mudflats visible and water level dropping
12:10pm end

Tweeters,
In another life and seemingly long ago, I heard an Army Military Police sergeant state on AFN Radio in Bremerhaven, Germany: "This is Sergeant Crabtree with the road and weather report for the Bremerhaven area. It is raining outside, and the roads, they are wet." Well, it's raining here on the Duwamish, etc. Several MEW GULLS are feeding in the water along the west shore south of the pier. The PEREGRINE FALCON is on the north side of the west-bank power tower (on the catwalk railing). Last week, it was perched in about the same spot for over 3 hours (I forgot to mention that in one of my reports).

Birds seen during this scan include the following:
Canada Goose (7; all snoozing on the mudflat directly to the south)
Mallard (2; both males)
Double-crested Cormorant
Peregrine Falcon
Mew Gull (9)
Glaucous-winged Gull (12)
Rock Pigeon (10)
Belted Kingfisher
American Crow (3)
Black-capped Chickadee (3)
Bewick's Wren
Red-winged Blackbird
House Finch (2)
House Sparrow

May all your birds be identified,

Denis DeSilvis
