Interesting account Hilary. Thanks for the reminder as I do remember that
black bear that was raiding the dumpsters around the Factoria Mall and roaming
the neighborhood a couple years back. It was even sighted by neighbors here in
the wooded greenbelt/ravine out back east of 150th SE south of Newport Way.

In the wake of having lost two hummingbirds feeders in less than 12 hours to
nature's terror (wildlife and wind) a couple days ago, even more mysterious
was finding my biggest hummingbird feeder this morning completely unscrewed from
the bottom. It was still hanging from the pole but drained and the bottom
which had been firmly attached resting down below in the ferns completely
intact, including even the fragile little plastic perches. Nothing could climb that
pole nor any indication that anything did or tried, there are no trees or
bushes allowing access nearby, and the squirrel/rain guard was still in place
untouched or scratched. So maybe there's more than just marauding nature at play
around here like perhaps some sort of whimsical capricious spirits. Okay,
okay! I'm sorry, but please tell me what I did wrong!
