Hi Tweets

I grabbed some time between 3 and 4 p.m. today to check out the activity on
the Edmonds waterfront from the fishing pier. The tide was fairly low. As
I walked toward the base of the pier there was a GREAT BLUE HERON and the
male BELTED KINGFISHER that works the marina. There were both male and
female COMMON GOLDENEYES and SURF SCOTERS. There were lots of female
RED-BREASTED MERGANSERS, CROWS, GLAUCOUS-WINGED GULLS, WESTERN GULLS, and
BONAPARTE GULLS. There were RED-NECKED GREBES and HORNED GREBES. There
were 16 BRANTS offshore, DOUBLE-CRESTED CORMORANTS, and one PELAGIC
CORMORANT between the pier and the breakwater. Lots of STARLINGS on the
breakwater. I spotted one MARBLED MURRELET in nonbreeding plumage near the
ferry dock.

Good birding,
