Subject: Sammamish Sightings (King Co.)

This week has brought a lot of mountainous birds into the neighborhood. For
the last three days, we have had several flocks of RED CROSSBILLS hanging
out in the tops of the douglas firs that surround our house here in
Sammamish. We also had a COMMON RAVEN flyover a couple of days ago. Plus,
PURPLE FINCHES seemed to be more abundant this past week. Other notable
birds I saw in the yard this week include a nice mixed flock that contained
a singing HUTTON'S VIREO and two TOWNSEND'S WARBLERS.

I also wanted to share a website that I have made about my favorite local
birding spot: Llama Lake. I've been going there regulary for the last 9
months and have compiled quite a few sightings. I've been trying my hand at
digiscoping (with mixed results) and have posted some of the pictures that I
have taken at the lake.
