A male Red-naped Sapsucker was photographed today on Vashon Island at the home
of Richard Rogers, 13313 SW 220th, 463-5940. Please call first if interested
in viewing it. It's been around for at least a month but today I got a look at
it and saw the red on the nape of the neck. Otherwise it looks pretty much
like a yellow-bellied. From the Fauntleroy ferry you would head south on
Vashon Hwy until the 4way stop at 204th. Turn right, or west and follow the
road down a hill, it makes a big curve, has a long straightaway, heads up a
hill curves back to the west (turning into 220th) and then go about a mile to
two miles. Richard's driveway is on the right just before a mail box with a
small US flag.

We hope it will stick around and be spotted for the Vashon CBC on Sunday. If
