Dear Tweeters,

In the riverside park at Leavenworth (Chelan County) on December 31, I heard a Northern Pygmy Owl. It was responding to my imitated Pygmy-owl calls (which turned up a few Black-capped Chickadees and a Winter Wren). I never did see the owl, but it responded three or four times. This was around dawn, just downstream from Blackbird Island.
