I've noticed the same trends for the yard birds at our place:

--increase in Towhees and Fox Sparrows
--a Varied Thrush (new yard bird, but not new for the neighborhood) and a Robin
--no Jays or Flickers recently
--also, the Mallards and Wigeons from the neighborhood came visiting the yard, about 40 of them at once.

I also saw a dark morph Rough-legged Hawk soaring on a thermal the other day, also a neighborhood first (unfortunately the hawk was gone by the time I stepped foot once again in our yard!).
