I just walked around my house to all the feeders and counted 11 varied
thrushes - wow! I think they told their friends about all the seed I
spread on flat surfaces. During this past week we've had 1 pileated
woodpecker, 2 hairy woodpeckers, and several northern flickers at our 6
suets (up to 9 flickers in the trees). Other birds include one rufous
towhee, the usual Steller's jays, and lots of juncos, finches, sparrows,
and chickadees. This has been an exciting time to see backyard birds.
McLendons has a good sale on suet - bought a bunch yesterday.
