Getting cabin fever down here in Olympia. Can't even make it out of my
driveway...embarrassing for a homegrown Minnesotan (we don't have a shovel!)
Anyway, yesterday before the big snow hit, I came home from the store to
find a LINCOLN'S SPARROW working the exposed dirt from my little front yard
garden. I've seen them during migration just down the road in some more
brushy areas, but never in a suburban front yard. Sometimes the birds just
come to you.

Did some C/C Skiing up at Paradise over New Years Eve and had singing RED
CROSSBILLS in the Wellsprings parking lot (near Copper Creek Inn) which is
something I'm not sure I've heard before. Neat little warbles with their
kip-kips thrown in. Also my friends had two SAW-WHETS doing a duet outside
their tent/cabin at Wellspring...and she didn't come get me!
