The BLACK-AND-WHITE WARBLER first seen on 6 Dec by Dave Beaudette continues
to be seen at Daroga State Park, Douglas Co, WA. It was seen on 25, 27, and
30 Dec. The park is about 24 miles north of Wenatchee along US 97. Turn off
at the main entrance at about milepost 219.5. The park is closed so don't
block the gates. Walk down the main park road, past the first parking lot on
the left, to the two small cinder block buildings on the left. Look in this
area, particularly for the kinglet flock with which it associates.

In the Lewiston ID/Clarkston WA valley are some good birds. Jane Westervelt
reports 2 LONG-TAILED DUCKS presumably on the Clearwater River near the
grain towers, their usual spot, and 2 PEREGRINE FALCONS. On 3 Jan Terry and
Christine Gray along with Joel Sauder found 5 SNOW BUNTINGS in a flock of
1000 Horned Larks along Road 470 south of Grelle Avenue in the Lewiston
Orchards. On 6 Jan, Carole Vande Voorde reports that she and Joel Sauder
found 1 male LONG-TAILED DUCK at the Confluence, 1 EURASIAN WIGEON at
Swallows Park (just south of Clarkston along WA 129 and the Snake River),
and 2 more EURASIAN WIGEONS at Kiwanis Park (just south of the US 12 bridge,
between Snake River Avenue and the Snake River). Also a GLAUCOUS GULL, well
maybe it's an ICELAND GULL. It's a bird worth taking a double-look at.

Doug Schoenwald reports a single LAPLAND LONGSPUR in a flock of Horned Larks
near Moses Lake, Grant Co WA on 3 Jan. The birds were between Road 4 and 5
SE. WA DeLorme 69, D-6.5. Along Parker Horn on Moses Lake Doug found a first
winter THAYER'S GULL, 22 DUNLIN, a GREAT EGRET, and a mink. WA DeLorme 69,
CD-6.
