Hi Gang

Is there any chance the Accipiter I saw in my neighbor's tree in Ballard (Seattle) was a juv NORTHERN GOSHAWK? Firstly, it was huge, it looked to be two feet from head to tail, the breast was well streaked, brownish, the tail was long with a white scalloped edge and with several horizontal bands. The white scalloped edge was quite striking and different than the usual Accipter, the head looked very small in relation to the body, which was huge.

Whatever it was it was very striking and didn't stick around...
