Good Morning Tweeters,
We had a small, compact male flicker visit yesterday that was unusually
nervous. He was at a suet feeder. He landed and then vey obviously checked
out the surrounding area, then pecked for a few seconds and then looked
around again. He repeated this several times. Once a junco flew by and he
tracked it with his head until the junco disappeared. He then started his
routine again.
We have two theories, one he is not used to the suburban enviornment. He has
been chased out of a very unpopulated area by the weather or other things.
Two, he has been attacked recently and has not recovered from the trauma. He
had no noticeable physical injuries. Any ideas or comments?
Who eats flickers?
