January 5, 11:11 AM - This is Tom Cotner calling from Seattle (206) 543
6755. I'm reporting a GREAT HORNED OWL at the Southeast corner of
Interlacken Park on Capital Hill in Seattle. It called from about 2:40
AM to 2:55 AM. I believe it was the same bird which was here in
December. Thank you, and good birding.

January 10, 6:30 PM - This is Steven Mlodinov. Today Kevin Cox, Jesse
Berry, and I had a BEWICK'S SWAN on Fir Island. It was on Polson Road,
west of Dry Slough Road, before Polson road makes the sharp turn to go
north. It was in a flock of several hundred mixed TUNDRA and TRUMPETER
SWANS, mostly TUNDRA or WHISTLING. The bird's yellow on the side of the
bill almost went to the nostrils, very close. There were several
WHISTLING SWANS with rather extreme amount of yellow but this bird had
about twice as much yellow or maybe more than any of those birds which
might offer some confusion. Otherwise, the GYRFALCON was at West 90 on
the Samish flat. That's it. Good luck and good birding.
