While running errands on Sunday (1/11/04), I ran into
a flock of about 70 Bohemian Waxwings on the South
Hill of Spokane. The birds were near the junction of
Perry & 32nd.

Apparently, there is a Spokane County COMMON GRACKLE
near Liberty Lake exit south off I-90. Brian Miller
told me that he saw the bird in the Burger King
parking lot about a week and a half ago. Brian thinks
that the bird may have been around for quite a while.

Although I haven't tried for the Grackle yet, I plan
on giving it go. In the meantime, other birders might
want to try there luck with the grackle while they are
sitting in the fast food drive through lanes. Brian
suggests looking through out the surrounding strip
malls and fast food parking lots.
