Hi, Lisa:

When I lived in Reardan (just west of Spokane) I had an incredible array of birds coming to my feeder in winter. I think the year-round stream running about 50' from my house plus the bushes and other growth made the difference. A lot of birds nested in the area and I really benefitted from the habitat. As the years went by I had more and more species show up and start nesting. By the time I had to move there were breeding crossbills, orioles, and others too numerous to mention here. I don't know if this was indicative of climate change, the birds being attracted by other birds feeding at my many feeders, or a combination of variables.
