About 4 summers ago I was working in the Clearwater Mountains of
north-central Idaho and had a male Blue Grouse behave in a similar manner to
what is being reported. It followed me down a logging road and when I got
back into my truck it hopped up on the hood, climbed up on the roof, and
eventually comically perched on my sideview mirror (which I got pictures of)
all the time acting very aggresively (clucking, flapping its wings, etc.) It
was quite an experience!

thanks, Charles.
