Hello All,
I was at both Gene Coulon Park and the Cedar River mouth this morning, and
the GBBG was nowhere to be found. Fogged in until I left at both
locations, and the airport staff was shooting off fireworks to scare the
gulls off, helpful. It seems that the Gull came in about five minutes
after I and most others left last night, my thanks to the hardy souls that
stuck around to make sure it was still there. I am going back tonight,
from 2:30 unitil DARK this time. I wanted to give a heads-up to all those
out there in Tweeter Land, I am going to bring a walkie-talkie with me,
and I will have it set to channel 2-2. I'll have it on for anyone who
wants to contact me, and as I see it, there will probably be two main
groups of birders tonight, one cluster at Coulon, and another at the mouth
of the Cedar River, and I would love to be able to let the other group
know if the bird shows up wherever I am, and vice versa. Untill
tonight...
