Dear Tweeters,

I have just found out that I'll be attending a meeting in Seattle
around Feb 12. Whilst I'm in WA I will try and fit in a couple of
days birding. I see from a couple of postings on "Tweeters" that
there has been a Gyrfalcon around Midway Beach. This is a species I'd
love to see and will try and make an effort to see it on my trip to
WA. I understand Midway Beach to be somewhere around Gray's Hbr, but
I can't figure out exactly where from the DeLorme. Hence, I'd be
grateful if someone could provide me with info on how to find Midway
Beach. In addition, any other tips for seeing the Gyr (time of day
etc) would be greatly appreciated, as would news of any other
potentially chaseable Gyrs in W. WA.

Other spp I'd be interested in looking for during my trip incl Owls
(any reliable Saw-whets? any chance of a Snowy?), Rock Sandpiper,
Gulls esp Glaucous (any good spots to search besides that where the
GBBG is currently being seen?), Alcids, sea duck (any chance of King
Eider anywhere?), Any info on any of these, esp that which hasn't
appeared in the last couple of days worth of tweeters posts, would be
greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

Cheers
Steve
