Annet and Jim Dittmer found a GREATER YELLOWLEGS and 2 RED-NECKED GREBES at
Clover Island in Kennewick on December 20.

On December 25, Laurie Ness found a ROSS'S GOOSE in Howard Amon Park at the
bottom of Newton Street in Richland.

BALD EAGLE reports continue to come in. The Dittmers saw one in Columbia
Park on December 21 and Hannah Crowley reported one on December 26, near
Ferry Street in north Richland.

On Jan 2, Bob Woodley found an adult GLAUCOUS GULL at the north end of
Nelson Island in Groves Park in Richland. It was relocated the next day
off Columbia Point by Phil Bartley for our Christmas Bird Count.

Also on Count Day (January 3), Margaret Greger reported an AMERICAN TREE
SPARROW at her feeder in Richland.

Lucie Fritz and Wayne Heinz have a HARRIS'S SPARROW at their feeder in
north Richland. It was first reported on January 4 and has been seen
several times since.

In the bad weather on January 6, Lauren Hirsh had 2 YELLOW-HEADED
BLACKBIRDS, 2 female BROWN-HEADED COWBIRDS, and BREWER'S BLACKBIRDS at her
feeder in the Willowbrook area of Richland.

On January 7, Adam Haun videotaped a RED-BREASTED SAPSUCKER in his North
Richland yard. This is the first record of this species in Benton county.

On January 8, Annet and Jim Dittmer located 12 over-wintering GREAT EGRETS
at Ringold, north of Pasco.
