Hi Tweeters,

At lunch today I saw Goldfinches clinging to a
vertical brick surface and picking at the surface.
They were using their tails as props a la woodpecker.
Anyone see this before? Part of the building had
rough bricks and part was smooth bricks. The finches
were using both surfaces. Fun to see. Some are
getting just a bit of yellow color, and a few that
were in a nearby tree were doing some early tuning up
for spring. Nice to hear bits of song.

The local UW Red Wing Blackbird bachelor group is
turning into a regular chorus. The days are getting
longer, spring cannot be far away......:-)
