Hello, this is the Audubon Society of Portland Rare Bird Report. This report
was made Thursday January 22. If you have anything to add call Harry Nehls

A LUCY? WARBLER is regularly coming to a Brookings hummingbird feeder. If
interested call Sheila Chambers at 542-469-7666. The YELLOW-BELLIED
SAPSUCKER is still coming to a Florence feeder.

BARN and TREE SWALLOWS continue to increase in western Oregon. Good sized
flocks of CANVASBACK are now being reported.

A TURKEY VULTURE was near Gold Beach January 20. A GYRFALCON continues to be
seen on the North Spit of Coos Bay. A SORA was near Siltcoos Lake January
15. A NORTHERN MOCKINGBIRD was at Yaquina Bay January 18. On January 15 a
LONG-EARED OWL was heard calling in Warrenton.

A HARRIS?S SPARROW was north of Vancouver January 19. The Vanport Wetlands
sparrow flock now contains a HARRIS?S SPARROW, two WHITE-THROATED and many
WHITE-CROWNED and GOLDEN-CROWNED SPARROWS. A hybrid GREEN-WINGED TEAL is
nearby. On January 17 a flock of 13 GREATER YELLOWLEGS was along Rentenaar
Road on Sauvie Island. Over 1000 SNOW GEESE are also in that area. The
COSTA?S HUMMINGBIRD coming to a southeast Portland feeder continues to be
seen.

A SORA was at Cedar Canyon Marsh January 18. A BLACK PHOEBE is now being
seen at the fish pond in Willamina. The Baskett Slough NWR GYRFALCON is
still being seen. An out of season SOLITARY SANDPIPER was near Stayton
January 18. That day a TURKEY VULTURE and over 150 YELLOW-RUMPED WARBLERS
were near Corvallis. A PACIFIC GOLDEN-PLOVER was along Tangent Drive east of
Corvallis January 19.

On January 16 a GYRFALCON was near Finley NWR. Six SANDHILL CRANES were
north of Lebanon January 15. On January 21 a pair of CINNAMON TEAL and 51
GREATER YELLOWLEGS were near Fern Ridge Reservoir. A CINNAMON TEAL was at
Talent in the Rogue Valley January 17.

A GLAUCOUS GULL was at Klamath Falls January 19.
