If you know someone who might like to go on a field trip, and who has difficulty walking, please let them know about the following:

A week from Sat., Jan. 31, I will be taking a group of birders to the Skagit Flats for some 'birding-by-car'. This trip is designed for those who have difficulty walking and will likely include people who use wheelchairs and other assistive walking devices. We will stop at accessible facilities and the trip will be inclusive and accessible for the needs of those who sign up. Swans, snow geese and birds of prey will be our focus, although we are likely to see a variety of shorebirds, waterbirds, and passerines. Depending on the interests and endurance of trip members, we might get up to the Samish Flats as well.

Anyone interested may call Seattle Audubon at (206) 523-4483 to sign up, 10 to 4, except Sundays. I can be reached at (206) 362-6035 for questions about the trip itself, but I cannot sign people up.
