Tweeters,
Cold wind off the the river turned my fingers purple, and made tissues mandatory for the runny hooter today. I thought I had a surprise today: Greater White-fronted Goose (not capitalized because, well...). However, after it raised its head where I could see it, the GWFG turned out to be some sort of aberrant domestic goose--speckled black head, no barring on chest/belly, yellow legs, white around base of bill. Would have been nice....

Note: Got scoped in on the 3rd winter Glaucous Gull Sunday about 1pm when Patrick and Ruth Sullivan showed up on the platform at Coulon Park (the majority of birders were north of this spot on the shoreline). Always good to have confirmation from some nice folks, and great views of the bird.

Birds seen today included the following:

Canada Goose (18)
Gadwall (4)
Mallard (2)
Bufflehead
Common Goldeneye
Double-crested Cormorant (14)
Glaucous-winged Gull (7)
American Crow (6)
Song Sparrow (singing in the cold)

May all your birds be identified,

Denis DeSilvis
