Hi Tweeters,

We have recently moved to the Spokane area and have set up our feeders. Two days ago the chickadees and juncos seemed especially anxious and my husband went out to look. There, sitting on the snow between two feeding stations was a Northern Pygmy-Owl, but of course it was gone by the time I got there. The next morning he went out for another look and there lay a dead Calif. Quail with it's head eaten off. When we returned yesterday, there sat the Owl feeding on his prey. We were amazed that it would take a bird that large.

I went out a few minutes ago and found the Owl feeding again and I suspect it will return, so if anyone wants to try for a look, call me here at home and I will give you directions.

What a show!
