On January 20, Ruth Fischer reported an immature BALD EAGLE in her Richland
yard. A side-by-side comparison with a Sharp-shinned Hawk was impressive.

Also on January 20, Nancy LaFramboise noted a male EURASIAN WIGEON at
Marina Park in Richland at the end of Columbia Point Drive.

January 21 proved to be an exciting day at the McNary National Wildlife
Refuge Education Center. Chris Simonen and Ann Taylor found a COMMON
GRACKLE vocalizing from the top of a birch tree. Later, while trying to
relocate the grackle, Chris, Ann, and Nancy LaFramboise observed an
AMERICAN TREE SPARROW with other sparrows near the feeders.

The GLAUCOUS GULL noted previously was on the ice between the marina and
Bateman Island Causeway on January 23.

Dana Ward found a NORTHERN SHRIKE at Chiawana Park in Pasco on January 25.

On January 27, Mary Lilga observed 2 COMMON RAVENS in Richland along Saint
Street. Although ravens are common, they are seldom see within the city.

To report your own sightings, please give your name, phone number, date,
and sightings after the tone. Thank you.
