Hello, this is the Audubon Society of Portland Rare Bird Report. This report
was made Thursday January 30. If you have anything to add call Harry Nehls
at 503-233-3976.

On January 22 a possible GREAT WHITE HERON was reported from Corvallis, it
needs verification. Two MCCOWN?S LONGSPURS are now at Lower Klamath NWR.
They are among a flock of 10 LAPLAND LONGSPURS and 15 HORNED LARKS. The
Brookings LUCY?S WARBLER is still being seen.

The TREE SWALLOW and TURKEY VULTURE migration is apparently now underway.
Many BARN SWALLOWS are still being reported.

On January 27 a CLAY-COLORED SPARROW was at Hunter Creek south of Gold
Beach. A subadult male BULLOCK?S ORIOLE is now coming to a feeder in
Astoria. On January 24 a RUFOUS HUMMINGBIRD arrived at a different Astoria
feeder. Two RED-SHOULDERED HAWKS were in the Astoria area January 25.

COSTA?S HUMMINGBIRDS are now coming to feeders in Portland and Salem. The
PACIFIC GOLDEN-PLOVER is still in the Tangent area east of Corvallis. On
January 24 over 40 THAYER?S GULLS were in the farm fields west of Amity. On
January 26 a RUFOUS HUMMINGBIRD was in Eugene.

That?s it for this week.
