Our tree farm is east of Redmond, and we usually see Townsend's Warbler
up high in the forest trees during winter, but for the past three winters,
he (for some reason, it is always the male) has been a regular visitor at
our home-made suet mix, and occasionally at the sunflower chip feeder.
Most of the time, he is by himself, although he is quite willing to share
with the Chickadees. I love to look at him head-on, "big, black eyes
surrounded by big yellow glasses and a black throat." His white outer tail
feathers are very conspicuous as he flies away, a gorgeous bird!
We do not see him in the summer, so he must nest elsewhere.
