What you have to do Nancy is learn not to discriminate against so called
"Pest Birds" In a society like ours it is not accepted to discriminate
against colour, race, religion but you can regarding Pets, Animals, birds,
plants, weeds, etc. Sparrows have just as much right to be here as do
Starlings, Crows, Cowbirds etc. every one of these are just as important to
the circle of life. If I could afford it, I would buy up huge amounts of
land and designate them to these so called pests!

It makes me laugh when I go into these Wild bird shops and listen to so
called birders who will ask what seeds to buy, they will say things like "I
don't want Jays or Chickadees, but I would like Bushtits and Goldfinches, "I
don't want to have Siskin's because there are too many of them about but I
want Woodpeckers"

John Hillmer from Britain was dead right in his last post, it is about
education here, there is not enough of it to make people understand that
once we loose it, it is gone forever.

I wish I could house your Sparrows here Nancy with your Starlings, I will
put up with the chirps, and you can have my neighbors with their noisy
chainsaws and fireworks...

Make every Garden a wildlife Habitat!

When the animals come to us,
Asking for our help,
Will we know what they are saying?

When the plants speak to us
In their delicate, beautiful language,
Will we be able to answer them?

When the planet herself
Sings to us in our dreams,
Will we be able to wake ourselves, and act?
