11:46am end

Tweeters,
Much cooler today, and a south breeze that wafted into all the openings of my Hiawaiian shirt...brrrr. The OSPREY family at Hamm Creek weren't very active, but I saw all three nestlings. They're definitely on their way to maturity.

The local PEREGRINE FALCON took a hunting sortie (missed a pigeon) from the east power tower.

Birds seen during this scan include the following:
Mallard (7)
Common Merganser (2)
Double-crested Cormorant (5)
Great Blue Heron (2)
Osprey (2 adults, 3 nestlings at Hamm Creek)
Peregrine Falcon
Glaucous-winged Gull (12)
Rock Pigeon (10)
American Crow (17)
Violet-green Swallow (2)
Cliff Swallow
Barn Swallow
European Starling (18)
Marsh Wren (heard; located at the restoration area of Turning Basin #3)
Song Sparrow (3; possible family party)
House Finch (4)
American Goldfinch

May all your birds be identified, and drive careful this holiday,
