Listen, it is obvious that there is very little going on at the moment with
the birds and that is all right with me! There are some very sensitive
people out there on this list that find things offensive that I do not. I
can not help that I'm afraid, as I have said before and is also stated on
tweeters rules and regulations, hit the delete key if you see my name, you
are entitled to you know!

I have just been called a name by the last poster, a bigot, I thought name
calling was across the board, did he not break the rules too or is this as I
said just "pick on me" day?

I really do not care what people want to call me, it is water off a ducks
back I'm afraid. But I think if I called someone a "no talent ass clown" I
would be going over the mark and would definitely deserve to be kicked off
here!!!!

I go with Joe in his post about selective postings, I too delete certain
people that post here because I find them boring too, but they are entitled
to their opinion, I value the very fact that we can have one in this world,
it would be bloody horrible if we were all told to shut up and do as I say!!

I can only write as I find, I do not make things up just to get peoples
goats up! I will not go into everything that I have already said before but
this beer thing!!!! What the heck is that about? Walk around Skagit flats
and see the beer cans on the ground throughout hunting season! I know they
are there because I pick them up by the bag full along with spent shells,
how can this be offensive to beer drinkers?

I find a lot of things on this group offensive but I deal with it, the "none
native" threads really gets my goat, why is it ok for those who find my
wording offensive but not visa versa?

I am going to post from a section that somebody sent me; I will not reveal
their name..

<I keep thinking that even when people attack us for our ethical positions
they have still heard them. We do not ever know when and where those
wholesome and honest positions will come forth from their memories and bear
fruit. We will never know because we would be the last people they would
tell. But perhaps our convictions will pop up the next time they raise a
gun or shoo away a sparrow or a starling. Perhaps even, they might think of
us the next time they eat a turkey or a chicken. We will never know but we
DO know that the worst damage is done by good people keeping quiet. >

This is what it is all about to me..

..

I will carry on the way I do, I love the very thing I try to protect and I
will protect this to the end, I want my daughter's kids to be able to see as
much wildlife on this planet as possibly imaginable, look at the Hawaiian
crow and tell me they were not extirpated? Why would this not happen here?
West Nile has hit many parts of the USA and with it Crow, Jay, chickadee
populations, on top of this they are still hunted, in Nebraska it is hard to
find a crow or a chickadee, a few years ago there were many, look at the
websites to confirm this!!

I would like to thank all the wonderful support I have from members of this
group, there are some terrific people out there who care and for this, I
have hope that one day, we will all be one in thinking..

Now I'm off to get a beer because I'm a no talent ass clown!!!!!!!!!!!

Regards

Martyn

When the animals come to us,
Asking for our help,
Will we know what they are saying?

When the plants speak to us
In their delicate, beautiful language,
Will we be able to answer them?

When the planet herself
Sings to us in our dreams,
Will we be able to wake ourselves, and act?

I, for one, was offended by Martyn's post. As a biologist at WDFW, I am
often referred to as an idiot. It goes with the territory and you get use to
it. Actually, I wish people would be a little more creative with their name
calling as idiot get kind of old. Something like "no talent ass clown" would
get honorable mention from me, but people rarely get that creative. As a
graduate of Evergreen I was once called an "infiltrator" in state
government, which I though was pretty good.

His description of hunters was pretty rude and prejudicial. I am not a
hunter, so that is not what offended me personally. I was offended to the
core as a beer drinker. I know a lot of hunters and a lot of beer drinkers
(I know of many in the birding community) and none of them behave in the
manor that was described. I generally consider comments such as those posted
as "overly passionate and under informed" and usually brush them aside.
Everyone's entitled to their opinion, however, I would rather not read such
opinionated non-birding post on Tweeters.

Joe et al,

I, too selectively read posts and I find Martyn to be a bore and a bigot. He
would not be the first person on this list to lose his posting privileges
for not meeting the protocol of such a diverse population.

My impression of his posts are much ranting with little factual basis except
his personal prejudices.

I've handled this situation my own way. He is now in my spam file and
blocked from my email.
