Russell Link (his book, "Landscaping for Wildlife in the Pacific
Northwest" is excellent), has just published a new book, "Living With
Wildlife in the Pacific Northwest". This book covers the wildlife,
including birds, we are likely to encounter, how to attract wildlife,
how to keep it happy and healthy once we've attracted it, what to do
with sick or injured wildlife and lost babies, and what to do if
wildlife becomes a problem to humans or other wildlife (including what's
legal and what's not, and eco-friendly ways to discourage nuisance
behaviors). This book answers MANY of the questions I see asked on
Tweeters, and is a great resource for anyone who wants to make human
environments more welcoming to wildlife. I know the Seattle Audubon
Nature Shop carries this book, and I expect it is available or can be
ordered from other bookstores.
