I saw a complaint on Tweeters about hummingbirds leaving.

The first of your male Rufous arrived here yesterday, 7/6/2004, in
Placitas, NM, 20 miles north of Albuquerque.

It is definitely a Western Washington bird . . . it is somewhat moldy and
the feathers look damp, but it is recovering nicely in this climate.

It seems like your hummers desert their wives early in the summer . . .
this one has a very guilty look on its face.
