Hello, this is the Audubon Society of Portland Rare Bird Report. This report
was made Thursday July 8. If you have anything to add call Harry Nehls at
503-233-3976.

A RED-HEADED WOODPECKER was seen July 5 at Cascade Locks, but could not be
relocated. A YELLOW-THROATED VIREO was reported near Brookings July 3, the
same day a male ROSE-BREASTED GROSBEAK was seen in Brookings. A pair of
HOODED ORIOLES are summering in Central Point in the Rogue Valley. If
interested in seeing these birds contact Barbara Kleine at 664-7813.

Two EURASIAN COLLARED-DOVES are now hanging around in front of the City Hall
in Merrill. On July 2 a ROSE-BREASTED GROSBEAK was near Ona Beach State Park
south of Newport.

A BLACK-CHINNED HUMMINGBIRD was near Toledo July 2. Another was reported
the next day in Eugene. A BLACK-THROATED SPARROW was seen July 5 at
Chiloquin. On July 3 four PINE GROSBEAKS were on Mt. Fanny above the Moss
Springs Guard Station.
