Tweeters,

I am going on a family canoe trip to the Bowron Lakes Circuit in
beautiful British Columbia during the first two weeks of August. I have
done this circuit once before in 1997.

We will take Highway 97 north to Quesnell, then cut east to Wells and
the park. We will take two days to travel up and so will have some
opportunities for birding (even though birders are the minority on our
crew we will be doing the driving! :-)) We will have much more time for
nature observation on the canoe trip.

Are there any not-to-be-missed birding areas on our way up - not too far
off the main highway? Also, what kinds of birds might we expect that
would be different than those we could find in Washington? Or, what
birds are rare in Washington that are more common this far north?

Thanks in advance for your consideration.
