Yesterday, we saw a kestrel snatch a juvenile robin off the lawn. I didn't realize a kestrel would go for such a large bird, much less carry it off, but this male kestrel labor-flapped across the yard with its prize accompanied by a horde of distressed dive-bombing adult robins. The juvie robins have been keeping a low profile since.

Also saw a mid-air transfer of a large food item from a male harrier to a female or juvie harrier. A first for me.
