Hi all,

Houston Flores and I visited the Everett waterfront briefly on Sunday and observed 4 ARCTIC TERNS. The birds were first heard from the boat launch parking lot on 10th St. We then found four terns flying in circles just South. After further investigation, we found two of the birds perched on some bars in the gravel parking lot at Nugget Boat Works on 13th St. Later, from the Jetty Island ferry we observed one of the terns catch a small fish and return to this general vicinity. At Jetty Island, two Arctic Terns were observed perched on a rock in the lagoon just northwest of the ferry dock. During the afternoon we had very good looks at the terns, both perched and in flight, particularly at the Boat Works parking lot.

Other birds seen at the lagoon here at high tide included WESTERN SANDPIPERS- ~300
LEAST SANDPIPERS- ~70
SEMIMPALMATED SANDPIPER- 1+
SEMIPALMATED PLOVER- 10-20
SPOTTED SANDPIPER- 1
BONAPARTE'S GULL- 1

Also had 2 PURPLE MARTINS near the boat launch.

Good Birding,
