I may come to that conclusion as when I see how well the foam supports the
two together. The adapter provides a really firm link, but I wouldn't call
it quick to execute. It screws into the camera lens threads and has to be
done with care to prevent damaging the threads. Not only do I want to save
time getting set up, but I want to avoid screwing . . . unscrewing . .
screwing, unscrewing . . . etc . . . which over time could wear on the
threads.
Yes, a fall/jolt outside of the case would be a bad thing. No matter what,
I can store/carry them in the same case . . . just detached if that ends up
seeming the best approach.
I still need to find the elusive case with the desired dimensions. Others
may have found a similar sized case useful for securely carrying a
scope/bino combination while traveling so I hope this topic may be of broad
interest to the group. I don't recall a "case study" like this in the past.
