A quick check of Marsh Unit 1 yesterday at Columbia NWR where we have just "irrigated" marsh impoundments produced 9 species of shorebirds including Solitary Sandpiper. The last impoundment south and east had 8 species using tilled bottom.

Earlier this week while mist netting immediately south of the marsh unit along the Crab Creek Trail we caught several Lazuli Buntings and one breeding condition Gray Catbird. Yellow-breasted Chats are usually easy to find along the trail as well.
