My hours at the Fill.

I found the Fill with the great directions from www.waders.org

The ponds are over grown at the edges but what I did get to see was very close and a good variety.

Lots of Great Blue Herons, Coots, Geese, Cormorants and Mallard Ducks, one small female coming all the way on shore for me to feed I would guess.

Near the Purple Martin houses along the Union Bay side, I saw the rooster Pheasant and one hen but no chicks. A pair of Cedar Wax Wings, only one Redwing Black Bird. But the real highlight of the day was a whole family of Fly Catchers, they were busy between a willow and a blackberry bush, when they rested the chicks would line up on one branch, 4 in a row at one point. One immature male Rufus Hummingbird. A Caspian Tern, Belted Kingfisher, Flicker, Goldfinches, Black Capped Chickadees, Barn Swallows. And I heard a Morning Dove, though did not see it.

lots of frogs and turtles out enjoying the sun also.

no Purple Martins or Peregrine Falcons

You do not need to leave your room...
Remain sitting at your table and listen.
Do not even listen, simply wait.
Do not even wait, be quite still and solitary.
The world will freely offer itself to you to be unmasked.
It has no choice. It will roll in ecstasy at your feet."
