This report is being filed on behalf of Michael Fleming. Michael saw a male and female ptarmigan above Paradise at Mt. Rainier National Park today.
On the Skyline trail, approximately 150 yards east of where the high skyline trail joins up with the main skyline trail that heads east from Panorama Point, the trails starts to curve around the side of a hill. Down slope there is a snow patch with greenery leading to it. The ptarmigan were here, down slope about 30 feet, in rocks near the snow patch.
He also reported rosy finches on high skyline trail above Panorama Point.
Keep the ptarmigan reports coming!
