Now that my nearest and dearest recently graduated from UW with a Ph.D.
in Biology I'll be leaving the USA for the sunny shores of U-Rup
(Lisbon, Portugal) at the start of September.

I have a few items of banding equipment that need a good home:

9, 10-foot mist net poles. These are made from 1/2 inch steel,
electrical conduit, cut into 2, 5-foot lengths and joined together
using a sleeve of strong PVC pipe. Each pole is covered in brown tape
for camouflage and to reduce weathering of the metal.

9, 2-foot pole segments. Made from 1/2 inch aluminum they are great as
portable mist-net poles and work well with 2-shelf nets. Again, each
segment is covered in brown tape for camouflage and to reduce
weathering of the metal.

22, 18-inch pegs made from 1/2 inch steel electrical conduit.

Assortment of guy ropes mostly 12-feet long and made from either sisal
or nylon twine.

3 collapsible keeping cages for medium sized birds. Each cage is 18
inches wide x 12 inches high x 36 inches long. The cages are made from
burlap (hessian cloth) with a sewn-in base of string netting (to let
any "material" fall out easily). There are 2 end-pieces (18 inch x 12
inch) made from 1/2 inch plywood with guy ropes that when secured hold
the cage open - rather like a tent. The cages were used for holding
shorebirds and can hold anything from least sandpipers to marbled
godwits.

Small banding pliers (size 0 - 1)

I also have:

1 rechargeable Lectro Science 500,000 candle-power lamp with AC and car
battery adaptors.
1 non-rechargeable Lectro Science 500,000 candle-power lamp.

1,200 20ml Fischer brand glass scintillation vials with caps that were
used to collect invertebrates.

I am open to offers, particularly for the banding pliers since they are
no longer made and hard to get hold of, but mostly I am looking for a
good home so the equipment does not find it's way into the trash.

Also we are selling everything, except my bird books and binoculars, so
if you are interested in household stuff (furniture & applicances) let
me know. I also have a 1998 Toyota Tacoma Extended Cab Truck with only
(80,000) miles to sell.
